Now that the NHS Long Term Plan has been published, now is the right time for us to talk with our communities about what the areas are that we need to focus on to ensure services remain sustainable and right for patients.
These discussions will build on what we have already heard through our Shaping Health and Care events across the area, and help us think about how we use the available money for health and care in the best possible way: “We can do anything, but not everything”.
Our discussions will be focused on the FUTURE of health and care:
Facing up to our challenges
Unwarranted variation – ensuring this does not happen
Resources and how we use them most effectively
Equity of access and care for our diverse population
We have held a number of events across Sussex and East Surrey, speaking to hundreds of people in Haywards Heath, Uckfield, Bexhill and further afield. If you have attended any of our FUTURE events this year, we would really appreciate it if you could fill out this short feedback form to let us know if the events and the information provided in hard copy and online have been useful.

We want to hear the views, experience and ideas of patients, public, staff, volunteers and carers. We want the local plans to be co-produced with as many different people as possible to make sure they truly reflect the needs of our population. That's why we are now entering 'phase two' of our engagement and going out to groups in the local community to find out what matters to them.
Our Population Health Check
To help develop the local plan, doctors, specialists and clinicians have come together across Sussex and East Surrey to develop a 'Population Health Check'. They have looked at clinical evidence, patient experience and local population information to give a diagnosis of what needs to change from their expert point of view. Click here to read more.
